Qualifications for our online reading degree program

At FGCU, we've streamlined the admission process to help you get started quickly and easily. Please read the requirements for the M.Ed. Curriculum & Instruction, Reading Education concentration online program, including what additional materials you need and where you should send them. The requirements include:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution
GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
One-page statement about your career and personal goals

You must meet the following requirements for admission to the M.Ed. Curriculum & Instruction, Reading Education concentration online program.

  • Submit graduate application and $30 application fee
  • Official academic transcripts from every college or university attended
  • Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale for the last 60 semester hours of the baccalaureate degree
  • A one-page statement about your career and personal goals connected with pursuing graduate work in Curriculum and Instruction. This statement should explain your motivation for pursuing a master's degree at FGCU.
  • For international students: a TOEFL exam with a minimum score of 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based)
